The V-Grip system is an international Antal patent for blocking ropes. The principle is based on pressure applied to 3 sides of the rope, which increases friction and therefore reduces pressure, so as not to impair maneuvers. All Antal blockers except the Cam 611 are equipped with the V-Grip system.

The V-Grip system has the following characteristics:

Pressure on three sides: unlike the usual flat cams, the V-Grip consists of a V-shaped cam that improves the hold without damaging the rope sheath. The tension is taken up over a larger part of the rope circumference.

Load distribution: the rounded shape of the pair of cams increases the contact surface, thus preventing the load from being concentrated on a single critical point.

Rope recovery with the cam closed: the rope can be recovered with the clutche closed. The rope automatically locks in the new position.

Emergency opening: the rope can be released under load without the use of a winch because the Antal mechanism guarantees opening under full load.
